Account

How do I create an account?

To create an account, download Oana to your mobile device from the App Store or Google Play Store
Select “Sign-Up” and join by email or with another associated account
If you are joining with email, fill out required fields for sign up and select “Create Account”

What if I forget my password?

If you’ve forgotten your password, select “Forgot password” on the welcome page and an email will be sent to you to reset the password

What is my username?

Your username is the email address you signed up with

How old do I have to be to create an account?

Oana recommends accounts be created for anyone 12+

What is My Catalog?

My Catalog is where you can see all of your listings that have and haven’t been published

You can edit and delete listings within your My Catalog or move published listings back to your Unlisted section if you don’t want them visible anymore

How do I delete my account?

To delete your account, go to settings using the settings button on the bottom navigation

Scroll all the way down to the bottom and click “Delete Account”

How do I create a listing?

Click the “+” on the bottom navigation

Decide if you are going to Give, Sell, or Ask, then select Item or Service

Follow the prompts to create a listing

Review the preview of your listing

Click the toggles for each group you’d like your listing to be published in or keep the listing as Unlisted to save as a draft

Why can’t I see all of my photos when I try to upload images for a post?

When creating a listing and uploading photos, be sure to select the option to give Oana access to “All Photos” or “Allow” access
If you can’t see all of your photos, check and reset Oana’s access to your photos by following the steps below:
- Phone.
Go into Settings on your phone and scroll down to find the Oana app

Click Photos and change the access from “Select Photos” or “None” to “All Photos”
- Android.
Go into Settings on your phone and select Apps to find Oana

Open Permissions and select “Allow access to media only” in Files and media permission

How do I edit a listing?

Open My Catalog and select the listing you’d like to edit

Click the edit button at the bottom to edit details, groups, and photo

How do I delete a listing?

Open My Catalog and click the edit button at the top right of the page to delete any listing you no longer want

How do I accept an offer?

After messaging in the app and confirming payment/terms of the listing, click the “Accept Offer” button at the top of of the direct message

How do I report a listing?

Click into the listing and use the ellipses on the top right corner of your screen and select “Report”

What can’t I list on Oana?

Content that:

Is abusive, harassing, or disrespectful of other users

Violates applicable Laws, including those prohibiting discrimination, falsee advertising, privacy, or unlawful markeing

Is intended to deceive or mislead, is false or inaccurate, or misrepresents the nature or condition of a user, product, or service

Contains marketing or promotional content unrelated to the details of a product or service

Includes sensitive personal information, including payment, contact information, or personal account details

How does payment/bartering work?

Payment/bartering is decided between the seller and buyer through direct messaging within the app

Once a deal is decided on, it is up to both parties to complete the decided upon transaction

How does Pay It Forward work?

The recipient of a gift with “Pay It Forward” is expected to pay it forward in by either posting a free item on Oana or doing a good deed in their community

The action is decided upon between the giver and recipient

How does service work as a currency in Oana?

Service works as a currency if a seller has selected “Or best offer” or “Open to trade”

You can discuss the service you’re able to provide in exchange for the item or service (i.e. home cooked meal, cleaning/yard work, music lessons, etc.)

Groups

How do I create a group?

Go to the group page using the bottom navigation

Click the “+” in the upper right corner

Name your group and add a photo (optional)

Preview and approve your group and begin inviting others by sharing the group link

How do I invite friends to a group?

The group moderator(s) can send invites through the roster page in the group or Invite button in the top right ellipsis

If you are a member of a group and want to invite someone, use the top right ellipsis in the group and click “Invite” to share the group link

If members don’t see an “Invite” button for your group, ask your group moderator to enable public invites in the group settings

Once the invitee has requested to join the group,, the group moderator(s) can review and accept the request, decline requests, or enable Auto-approve new users

How do I add moderators to my group?

Group creators can make other members in your group a moderator by going into the “Roster”

Find the user you’d like to be a moderator and swipe their name to the left

Click the icon with the “+” to open the toggle to make them a moderator

What can moderators do in a group?

Moderators can accept/decline new invites and manage items within the group

Are there maximum/minimum group member limits?

No, there are no limits for groups

How do I remove someone from my group?

Only the group moderators can remove users from a group

Open the “Roster” and swipe left on any user you’d like to remove

Use the red “-” button to remove the selected user

How do I leave a group?

Use the top right ellipsis within the group you’d like to leave and select “Leave”
